All registered nurses are to inform the Registrar within 1 week of any changes of address or personal details, this can be done preferably through the online portal at Nurses and Midwives Council (gov.mt) or in case of any difficulty by sending an email with the information to [email protected]

Non-EU trained Registered nurses and midwives who have been granted temporary registration and need to apply for renewal of the registration, must do so 1 month before the date of the expiry on the registration certificate. To be eligible for renewal a nurse of midwife must proof that he or she has practiced the profession in Malta during the whole period of the registration and can apply for renewal by sending the documents below scanned in pdf format to by email to [email protected]

1. Email asking to renew the registration with updated personal details and address
2. Copy of the Registration certificate
2. Last 3 payslips
3. Copy of your ID card/resident permit
4. Recent police conduct certificate or GP 47 in case of government employees
5. Reference letter from your direct supervisor/s of the last two years to confirm that you have been employed as a nurse and have been practicing the nursing profession
6. Employment record from Jobs plus

Please note that all the required documents must be submitted with your application, the only exception is the good standing status certificate which is normally sent directly to the Council however should the Council request you to send any additional documents these must be submitted within 3 months of the date of your application and should the requested documents not be presented, application fee of €192.50 will not be refunded. If an applicant would want to pursue the application after this time has elapsed, he or she has will have to initiate the process as a new application.

All non-EU trained applicants who submit their application for registration as a Nurse besides having all the requirements for registration are required to attend a non-EU nursing bridging course.
